Wow. What an amazing experience. The studio was perfect, cool quiet, an amazing space, really. The piano was....I mean; this Yamaha C2 has been prepped to within an inch of its life. Tuning, voicing, regulation......Yamaha pianos, especially the C series and CX series, usually sound great on the showroom floor, and then typically they get put in a bar or restaurant or school and then neglected, and they get brighter as the hammers harden, and never sound as good again.

This was the exception. This C2 played better than a new one. I was just at the Yamaha dealer in my home town playing brand new ones on the showroom floor - this piano played better than brand new ones from the CX series, and even the higher-end models. Which just shows that technician preparation and love given to a piano matters as much as the quality of the design of the instrument.

I have a piano at home, and I spend a lot of money and time with the technician maintaining it in good shape, but...all kudos to my technician - he has not worked on my piano as hard as whoever is working on this Yamaha C2 - I'm very impressed. The action was perfect, the sound was immaculate, the tonal consistency going across the keyboard and through the tenor break and elsewhere was about as good as I've heard.

I'm impressed, and inspired to encourage the technician I use to up his game (he's a great guy, but I'm still astonished at how good this piano was).

Ezequiel left a friend, Pierre to get me set up....they had a refrigerator with Coke Zeros in it, there was a teapot and tea, and coffee pods, an immaculately clean restroom. the temperature was cool and comfortable, and the rate was modest......what more could I ask for?
